New Medicare Part B Redetermination Notice Initiative

National Government Services (NGS) announced a new initiative for providers who submit Medicare Part B appeals using NGS' portal, NGSConnex. 

Starting March 3, 2025, NGS will discontinue issuing paper Medicare Part B Redetermination Notices (MRNs) for redetermination requests that are submitted electronically through the NGSConnex portal. Instead, these MRNs will only be accessible to view and print electronically through NGSConnex.  MRNs are NGS's appeal decision letters, explaining why Medicare upheld an original claim determination, and are sent when a redetermination is unfavourable.

NGS stated that it believes that this initiative will create a faster and more efficient process for providers to access Part B MRNs, streamline Part B Redetermination communications, and reduce the use of paper. This new process will also allow for faster delivery and better tracking of decision letters. 

NGS is encouraging providers to prepare for this change. NGS has scheduled webinars to review this initiative and provide education for using the NGSConnex portal to submit and view Medicare Part B Redetermination notices. Providers may register via NGS' Events page.
