Jane Pine Wood, President

Thirty-nine years of representation of clinical and anatomic laboratories, hospitals, health systems, physicians, imaging centers, home health agencies, mental health providers, clinics, other healthcare providers, and professional societies in corporate, regulatory, reimbursement, contractual, and other matters.

■ Of Counsel, McDonald Hopkins, LLC (2024 to 2025)

■ Chief Legal Counsel and Member of Executive Committee, BioReference Health, LLC (2016 to 2024)

     • Recruited as Chief Legal Counsel to establish the Legal and Compliance Departments and serve on the Executive Committee

     • Served as Chief Compliance Officer (in addition to existing Chief Legal Counsel role) from 2016 through 2017

     • Served as head of the Payer Relations Department from 2016 through 2018, and reassumed leadership of the department in January 2023

Noah Ginsberg, Vice Chairperson, Board of Directors

Noah Ginsberg has extensive experience in clinical laboratory services, currently serving as the Senior Director at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital since September 2010.

Ginsberg's professional journey at this institution includes roles such as Lead Administrator on Call, Director of Clinical Laboratory Services, Manager of Operations, Manager of Business Administration, and Operations Analyst. Prior to this, Ginsberg was the Chief and Executive Director of Harpur's Ferry Ambulance Service, holding various positions including Assistant Chief/Deputy Director, Coordinator, and EMT from 2006 to 2010.

Ginsberg holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Care Administration/Management from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Binghamton University.

Barry Schwartz, Treasurer, Board of Directors

Barry Schwartz has extensive experience in healthcare reimbursement and policy spanning both the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Reimbursement, Payer Relations & Contracting for Spectra Laboratories, a national clinical laboratory company and the largest renal specialty laboratory in the United States, which was part of Fresenius Medical Care, a global healthcare company. During his tenure with Spectra, Barry provided strategic leadership across the organization, shaping reimbursement strategy, payer relations, and broader enterprise growth initiatives. He guided the company through complex federal and state requirements governing laboratory payment and reimbursement for ESRD patients and represented the industry in numerous discussions with CMS.

Prior to joining Spectra, Barry spent over a decade with Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, a Medicare contractor, specializing in Provider Reimbursement Review Board (PRRB) appeals, including the development of position papers and management of Medicare cost report reimbursement appeals.

Barry currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the New York State Clinical Laboratory Association.

 

Melissa Allen, Chairperson, Board of Directors

Melissa Allen is the Vice Chair for Administration and Senior Director of Laboratory Services for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

With over twenty years of clinical laboratory experience, Melissa is responsible for overseeing clinical laboratory services across the University of Rochester Medical Center hospital network. Additionally, she oversees administrative support of research activities, graduate medical education, allied health programs and managing the contracting process with internal and external partners. Melissa’s career began as a licensed medical technologist specializing in cytogenetics. Over the years Melissa has held various technical and administrative positions in the laboratory space, including supervisor for the point of care testing laboratory, manager for pre analytical operations and director of operations from 2017 to early 2021. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from the State University of New York at Cortland and her master’s in business administration-medical management from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business.

Melissa also serves as the Board Chair of the New York State Clinical Laboratory Association, is member of the New York State Laboratory Leadership Consortium, Member at Large on The American Pathology Foundation Board, and is the Chair-Elect for the of Association of Pathology Executives Council of the Association for Academic Pathology. As an avid outdoor enthusiast and wellness champion, when she is offline, Melissa is likely found on a mountain enjoying snowboarding, hiking, trail running or camping.

 

Lauren Singelakis, Director

Vice President of Laboratory Operations Department of Pathology, Molecular and Cell-Based Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System

Lauren Singelakis is based out of New York City Metropolitan Area and works at Mount Sinai Health System as Vice President of Laboratory Operations Department of Pathology, Molecular and Cell-Based Medicine.

 

Ehud Fried, Director

Ehud Fried serves as Vice President and General Counsel of BioReference®, where he leads and manages the legal department’s day-to-day functions, relationships with external counsel, and closely aligned collaboration with internal stakeholders, including the company’s compliance, sales, operations, finance, human resources, and procurement teams to support strategic initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.

Before assuming his current role, Ehud served as the company’s Vice President and Senior Corporate Counsel, after originally joining the Company as Associate Counsel in 2018.

Prior to joining BioReference, Ehud spent 10+ years as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of a large, fully integrated New Jersey medical center encompassing acute care, behavioral health, and long-term care divisions.

Ehud is a member of the New Jersey State Bar, the New York State Bar, and the American Health Law Association. He earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and holds an M.P.A. in Health Policy and Management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

 

Gregory O'Dare, Director

Gregory O'Dare is an Assistant VP, Business Development at Northwell Health based in New Hyde Park, New York.

Previously, Gregory was a Vice President, Sales, Region (East) at Quest Diagnostics and also held positions at Athena Diagnostics.

Alissa S. Farrier is VP, Sales and Commercial Operations, Northeast, Labcorp Diagnostics.
